Georgia CEAL Faith Lay Health Advisor Training Program
OVERVIEW & GOALS
The Georgia CEAL Faith Lay Health Advisor Training Program focuses on the historic work of the faith health movement by equipping muti-faith leaders (both clergy and lay leaders) across Georgia to establish sustainable congregational health ministries or enhance existing health ministries. Participants are provided health education, health information and resources that will empower and assist them in improving the health of their faith community and communities-at-large. Faith lay health advocates are trained to 1) conduct health information and education sessions for their faith community on a variety of topics, including COVID-19; 2) conduct health needs assessment of congregation members; 3) establish collaboration worth health and human service agencies; and 4) sustain and institutionalize health ministry as a specialized component of their church’s organization.
